Solid Waste Management
is a complex process because it involves many technologies and disciplines.Thease inculde technologies associated with the generation (including source reduction), on-sites handling and storage, collection, transfer and transportation, processing, and disposal of solid wastes. All of these processes have to be carried out within existing legal, social, and environmental guidlined that protect the public health and the environment and are aesthetically and economically acceptable. To be reponsive to public attitudes, the disciplines that must be considered in integrated soild waste management includes administrative, financial, legel, architectural, planning, environmental, and engineering functions. For a successful integrated solid waste management plan, it is necessary that all thease disciplines communicate and interact with each other in as positive interdisciplinary relationship.
